In May of 1944, Elie Wiesel is fifteen years old when he and his family are deported in May 1944 by the Hungarian gendarmerie and the German SS and police from Sighet to Auschwitz. His mother & sisters were separated from Elie except his father who remain with him mostly throughout the camp. An abundant amount of people were deported from the Polish areas to Auschwitz following into Birkenau. They separated the Jews to Males & Females, their age & if they were strong or not.
